It’s a little funny that people were asking for sheet music.. All he’s doing is improvising using the c major blues scale. This isn’t classical music, you don’t ever need sheet music to play the blues. The blues scales, the bass lines, their simple to learn. It just takes a lot of practice to get good at it. The more you play the more of a nice flow you’ll have like this guy, all the sliding notes, licks ect. seem to come pretty naturally with time.

Anyways great video. I always prefer the blues at a slower tempo. If you play it too fast it just sounds like rock and roll anyways :D

I’ve been waiting to learn some advanced slow blues for a while and this seems to hit the spot.

If you want to learn to play like this then the best thing to do is to buy the David Bennett Cohen tutorial books and DVD’s. The guy is a brilliant tutor and I learned more from one of his DVD’s than everything else I bought put together.

I could listen to things like these all day long, great work

agree on Mr Cohen’s books and cds—you really nailed this one, added some of your own–nice!!

  21. stazz1111 says:

That was great. I think the second half was still too fast (just kidding – you’re the artist). God, I love … The BLUES!

  22. bigredlover77 says:

@Actraiser1 The blues is too much of a challenge for most people. It is NOT a soup of scales. It is an enigma which few of us have. This is a bluesless piece for the clueless. Just add blues. Metronomes are for the soulless.

  23. gladrunn says:

Nice… i’ve learned it by watching the video.. it’s enjoyable and quite easy

  24. FTDrop says:

  25. FTDrop says:

BTW: Do you have a transcription of the notes? I’m stuck at 0:23 to figure out what exactly the right hand is playing….
